PREFACE Me, H. Cigdem Yorgancioglu, as a producer and presenter of radio-tv diplomatic programs and as a diplomatic columnist, it’s my honour to be a guest of Ambassador of Holland (Netherland) in İstanbul. Targeting being appropriately informed, rather than being opinionated only, the primary purpose of such diplomatic interviews are to introduce the social, cultural life of relevant countries in associated country, as well as highlighting the intersection of mutual cultural, economic, political points between the foreign countries. I kindly ask diplomats to inform readers and audiences regarding the cultural, industrial, political significance, traditions of their country. Today waving flag is The Netherlands with elongated coastline, with many interesting towns and villages and areas of natural beauty. The beaches and dunes are ideal for many recreational activities such as cycling, walking, sailing and swimming. The land of admirable conditions for water sports further inland on lakes, rivers and canals. Now we are at the spectacular residence of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Istanbul, which was the residence of the Embassy of the Netherlands in preceding times, is known as the ‘Palais de Hollande’, prominent historical building for centuries, in which the public part consists of a church, two gardens, a gallery, a terrace, a courtyard, two salons, a ballroom and a dining room and where all public areas are open for the use by third parties Today, ( May ….. 2015 Istanbul ) my honour to be the guest of Excellency Mr Robert Schuddeboom, Consul General Holland of Istanbul H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Would you please kindly tell about yourself ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What can we say about the Better visa options for Turkish entrepreneurs? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu On the basis of recent the Modern Migration Policy Act which offers better occasions to entrepreneurs and employees from abroad. It makes it easier for people whose work will create value in terms of economy, science or culture to advance entry to the Netherlands. From 1 January 2015 a new scheme is being announced for ambitious start-ups from exterior the European Union (EU). Entrepreneurs can apply for a one-year residence permit to start an innovative business in the Netherlands.What would be Turkeys’ position in this regard ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu The EU accession process gives Turkey some responsibilities to introduce a series of fundamental reforms.What are the 3 main areas of progress ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What do you think about PEGIDA movement spreads across Europe that Stimulated by attack on the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu How the Netherlands is represented in the different EU institutions? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu EU environmental legislation H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Turkey has gone through an amazing transformation in the last 10 years, What do you think about ths progress H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Last year (2014)Turkish and Dutch Foreign Minister met in Ankara and Timmermans expressed his personal support for opening the chapters but said his government and Parliament would have the final word on the issue while stating The Netherlands will be one, once negotiations have finished, who delightedly welcome Turkey among the EU member states. It’s only fair that the process that started with the intention of making Turkey a member of the EU should lead to its membership if we can conclude the negotiations in a positive way,” H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu On the basis of The most important sectors of the Netherlands’ economy in 2012 were public administration, defence, education, human health and social work activities (22.7 %), industry (19.4 %) and wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation and food services (18.6 %). H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Holland is ruled on the basis of parliamentary constitutional monarchy while Turkey twitches talking about the Presidential System, so how do you think regarding such alteration and the pertinent arguments? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu As an EU member country since 1958 how do you see Turkey efforts for 69 years ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What do you think about the insentive commercial and economic relations with the Union. H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Do u believe and support Turkey is going through a comprehensive political and economic transformation process. H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What do you think about the establishment of the Ministry for European Union Affairs in 2011, and do you think tha such efforts can be deemed as Turkey’s indomitable, determined drive on the road to EU membership ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What do you think about Turkey’s alignment with the EU’s ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu On the basis of Turkish Foreign Policy and authorized ** statements, Turkey have faith in their involvement to the civilian and military operations conducted by the EU. Turkey’s contributions in this framework perceived as not only due to its status as a candidate for the EU membership, but also are an element of its multilateral foreign policy aimed at supporting international and regional peace and stability. In this regard ,we see Turkey on stage complying with EU operations and missions which Turkey now contributes to.The EUFOR-ALTHEA operation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the EULEX mission in Kosovo .So how do you see Turkey in such missions as Holland and as a EU member country ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What do you think regarding te massive efforts on the path of Cultural relatinshis and opening Cultural centers in different cities in Turkey H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu I attend Woman Afair n Humanitarian Affairs in Turkey which İ have attended 2 years back Disarmennment ? How was the positive impacts of such conferences and how do assess the results? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Currently Dutch Consulate have ongoing Projects A New Tactics in Child Rights: strategic network mapping and analysis on combating impunity against children, would yu lie to tell few words about the project ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu There is a project with a theme Promoting Human Rights Based Approach to Education in Turkey Education Reform Initiative at Sabanci University The overall aim of this project is to improve the compliance between the national legislation on education and universal human rights norms regarding the right on education as well as the rights in and through education. H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu There is a project with a theme Supporting Turkey in Establishment of Human Rights based Framework for Implementation of the EU-Turkey Readmission Agreement The International Organization for Migration (IOM) The overall objective is to support the Directorate General of Migration Management (DGMM) mainstreaming human rights and international standards in implementing obligations falling under the EU-Turkey readmission agreement. So what can we say about this project and the specific objectives of the project ? H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu Theme Effective Anti-Corruption Programmes for the Turkish Business Community Transparency International Turkey This project aims to promote awareness and understanding on ‘anti-corruption compliance’ suites among the business community and strengthen self-monitoring systems of Turkish enterprises. Through a systematic approach, generating a roadmap for adoption of a proactive approach towards possible corrupt relations as well as stimulating change towards a corruption-free business environment is being targeted. Toplumsal Katılım ve Gelişim Vakfı / Social Participation and Development Foundation Have an open discussion with university students and in the format of a round-table on democracy, with a special focus on women’s rights and social media and internet freedoms, in Turkey on the basis of Turkish Policy Quarterly magazine that will be published on these subjects.. H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu What can you say about the activities of Cultural Affairs Department of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Istanbul. H.Cigdem.Yorgancioglu The Netherlands host the fourth Global Conference on Cyberspace (GCCS2015) on 16-17 April 2015 in The Hague. Governments met with representatives of the private sector and civil society to promote practical cooperation in cyberspace, enhance the building of cyber capacity, and agree on norms for responsible and acceptable behaviour online, as well as explore how to protect freedom and privacy in cyberspace.How was the impact of conferences ?
